ESP (English for Specific Purposes) Special Interest Group
Scope:
The English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Special Interest
Group (SIG) supports instructors, program administrators, or other MITESOL
members who are interested in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and English
for Occupational Purposes (EOP).
Purpose:
The ESP SIG fosters the sharing of ideas, expertise, and specialized curricula
among ESP practitioners to promote quality research, education,
professional-development in ESP. Our aim is to promote models of excellence in
ESP to MITESOL professionals.
Membership Participation:
Members are encouraged to participate in the ESP SIG by:
Periodic emails designed to gather information, inform
members and stimulate discussion.
At least one SIG-sponsored session at the annual MITESOL
conference.
Annual general meeting and informal discussion sessions at
the MITESOL conference.
Member-initiated projects and workshops.
Leadership:
The current ESP SIG representative to the MITESOL advisory
board is Kristin Ekkens who is the Customized Workplace English Director at the
Kent County Literacy Council (

position are held every two years at the MITESOL conference. Please contact the

Current MITESOL members can be members of multiple SIGs. To
